TL;DR: There are days when, despite knowing lots of perfectly decent male humans, some of whom are even straight, I do find myself wanting to hit a button and wipe out the entire gender. For realsies.
*not, you understand, simply by the fact that these atrocities have happened. By the fact that intelligent, educated people in positions of power in 2013 DO NOT RECOGNISE THEM AS ATROCITIES. I mean, he's paying lip-service to the whole "this was a bad thing" notion, but on a gut level he's clear on the fact that the actual humans in the equation are the soldiers, and the women are the things the soldiers need to use.
